Outdoors

I love to be outdoors. I climb, hike, and bike. While I was a graduate student at Cornell, I taught rock and ice climbing for Cornell Outdoor Education. In this role, I took students on camping-climbing trips to places like The Adirondacks (NY), The Gunks (NY), and Red Rocks (NV). Our focus was fostering community and a love of the outdoors, via teaching students climbing, camping, and other outdoors skills.

Brady Program

From 2023 – 2025, I was a fellow with the Brady Scholars Program in Ethics and Civic Life. The Brady Program admits highly diverse classes of ~16 sophomores. Across their three years with the program, students take seminars in value theory, spend time abroad, attend events and talks, and work together to design and execute a civic engagement project in Evanston. As a fellow with the Brady Program, I taught a core program class called the “The Good Life”. I also mentored the Brady students’ development as philosophers, planned community events, supported the students in building connections with their cohort and the wider community, and promoted discussion across difference (a core part of this program are our weekly “teas” at which the whole Brady community discusses topic from political hope to asset-based community development).

Keeton House

From 2020–2023, I served as a Graduate Resident Fellow in Cornell’s West Campus learning-living community. I was a fellow in William Keeton House. My role involved being the first point of contact for students on my floor, being “on call” for emergencies, planning events, promoting community and discussion, mentoring students, and connecting students to the wider campus community.
